About Malcolm

Malcolm Fleschner has been writing his weekly humor column, Culture Shlock, since 2003. The column currently runs in the Palo Alto Daily News, the San Jose Mercury News, the Santa Barbara Daily Sound and online at the Jewish World Review. Culture Shlock has also previously appeared in the Washington Examiner, the Orange County Register and the Merced Sun-Star. Malcolm is also a sometime contributor to the Style Invitational, a weekly humor contest run by the Washington Post.

Malcolm has also appeared as a commentator on The Young Turks, the number one internet TV talk show, and in August 2010 began video blogging at The Young Turks' new YouTube channel, TheTopVlog.

Malcolm's love for writing was kindled in grammar school by his teacher Mr. Escher who frequently punished young Malcolm by making him write 100 times on the board “I will not write the same sentence over and over again.”

Malcolm currently lives in Palo Alto, California with his wife, three children, two cats and the nagging worry that someday he will be found out and exposed.
